This Christmas two hundred of Only Connect’s closest friends came together with HMP Wormwood Scrubs for carols and readings in the beautiful prison chapel.
The night marked the partnership between Only Connect and HMP Wormwood Scrubs and celebrated the rehabilitative work of the two organisations. Guests heard from the brilliant prison choir, who were incredibly courageous to stand and perform to a packed chapel.
Only Connect has a special relationship with HMP Wormwood Scrubs where our first project took place in 2006. We have worked there ever since, delivering training, support and education to the men who pass through the gates. Many of our Members have spent time in the prison, and we are privileged to work closely with the team there to ensure that they don’t return.
Our thanks go to the Governor, the Chaplaincy and all at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, for generously hosting the evening. Thank you also to Adam Green of the Prison Choir Project, those in the community who donated goods and to DHL for helping to make the night possible.
