Catering Skills, Courses and Business
Urgent call for new members.
Hello OC members! This is Tom Nicholls, the new catering executive. This is a new push to bring qualified courses into the building and developing new social enterprises to make money and provide employment.
For those of you that are interested there are catering engagements this week, on Tuesday 18th we will be cooking two soups between 9am and 12pm at West. There then will be the opportunity to cook two main courses on the Thursday 20th down at Central for the volunteers from MFS between 9am and 1pm.
Besides this we have Fresh Wednesday on the 2nd of next month for which we are planning a full on buffet based on cakes and savoury foods that would be found in coffee shops.
Those of you that are interested in beginning a enterprise should get involved and see where you might support our business through activities such as logistics, marketing and other associated activities.

HOME-START VOLUNTEER OPENING (Volunteering)
Open to anyone 18 and over.
This provides support for families with children 5 and under. However, anyone wanting to give back to the community and become a trained volunteer will also receive some of the following benefits:
Volunteers get 40 hours accredited training by Certa, Level 1 or Level
DBS are paid for by Home-Start.
Travel expenses are reimbursed (For course and while volunteering).
Volunteers get support towards their childcare.
Volunteers receive reference from Home-Start.

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

UNCERTAIN FUTURE : IMPROVISATION
All things hip-hop, All things rap. All things grime. This improvisation night pays homage to UK rap, hip hop and grime through a series of discussions and presentations. While us brits are trying to compete with our yankee counterparts, this night only focuses on how UK music isn’t that far away from US. A range of MC’s, DJ’s and comedians from the UK and overseas will see if we can use improvisation to understand ones story and culture.
